Observations from today’s readings and today’s S-WOD, Monday, 24 March 2025:
Listen to this message from Dr. J. Vernon McGee on Numbers 7 –
Numbers 7:89 — And when Moses went into the tent of meeting to speak with the Lord, he heard the voice speaking to him from above the mercy seat that was on the ark of the testimony, from between the two cherubim; and it spoke to him.
Can you imaging what Moses must have felt, hearing the voice of God directly? Moses had to go into the tent of meeting by himself to hear from the Lord. However, God now speaks to each of us directly through the Bible and Holy Spirit. We now have access to God’s word through the Bible, revealed specifically to us through the Holy Spirit within us as we abide in the continual presence of the Lord. God has also told us that when we pray in accordance with His word and in Name of Jesus, Jesus Himself intercedes for us and the Holy Spirit helps us in our prayers we don’t even know how to pray. If it is difficult to find time to read the Bible and pray, or if it is hard to stay focused while studying and praying, it is because we have lost perspective of what is happening – The Almighty is speaking directly to us because He wants to speak us personally and intimately! Pray that God will open your eyes to His presence, your ears to His word, and your heart to love Him, trust Him, and obey Him.
