Observations from today’s readings and today’s S-WOD, Tuesday, 18 March 2025:
Numbers 2:2 — The people of Israel shall camp each by his own standard, with the banners of their fathers’ houses. They shall camp facing the tent of meeting on every side.
What can we learn about God from Numbers 2 and His expectations for His people? God is a God of order, not disorder. God expects everyone within the body of believers to know their place and fulfill their specific assignment within the community of believers, with God (the Tabernacle) being the center of all things and the focal point upon which everything and everyone else is organized. God Himself creates the order, the unity in everyone’ diversity, or their “university,” just as the universe (countless diverse things coming together or uniting to form the cosmos), which was Created by God, has its order from God. When God is at the center and is the focus, all is in order and functions in perfect harmony. When God is not honored as God, there is disunity, chaos, and destruction. When Adam and Eve sinned against God, disorder and death followed. Jesus came to restore what sin ruined, and His prayer for us in John 17 was that we would return to unity in Him, to university.
“Cross” Fit S-WOD (Spiritual Workout of the Day) – 18 March 2025: Today, focus on keeping God at the center of all you do, and keep you eyes affixed on Him continually. Seek to build community with others who have the same orientation.
