Observations from today’s readings and today’s S-WOD, Sunday, 31 March 2024:
Psalm 13:1, 5, 6 — How long, O LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? … But I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation. I will sing to the LORD, because he has dealt bountifully with me.
Sometimes when God is silent during trials, you may feel as if God has forgotten you; even John the Baptist needed reassurance that Jesus was the Christ, the Lord, the Savior. When we are abiding in the Lord, even is silence, we can trust that God is faithful and responding to us in His perfect love and providence. During the exam, the teacher is silent. Faith is tested during times such as these. Faith is trusting God now and acting on that trust. Hope is trusting God with your future. Love is an affection for God that gladly surrenders all to God regardless of outcomes – faith, hope, love – these three remain. Trust God’s promises to you – “For the Lord will not forsake his people; he will not abandon his heritage.” (Psalm 94:14) God’s love for you cannot be separated from you (Romans 8:38-39) – believe it and act upon it! “But I have trusted in your steadfast love.” (v5)
“Cross” Fit S-WOD (Spiritual Workout of the Day) – 31 March 2024: Trust is the Lord today! Don’t worry! If He seems silent or distant, wait on Him. Remain faithful, and keep moving forward, confident in His perfect love for you and His perfect sovereignty and providence.
