Observations from today’s readings and today’s S-WOD, Sunday, 25 February 2024:

Listen to what Dr. Vernon McGee said about Psalm 8 and the requirement to have the faith of a little child — https://www.blueletterbible.org/audio_video/popPlayer.cfm?id=5464&rel=mcgee_j_vernon/Psa

Psalm 8:1 – O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens.

Psalm 8 starts like the Lord’s Prayer, acknowledging the Majesty of God. Without the right perspective of God, even our prayers are misguided. All sin starts with seeing God wrongly. All wisdom starts with seeing God rightly.

Psalm 8:4 — What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?

After seeing God correctly, the second key to life is having the right perspective of ourselves in relationship to Him, totally undeserving of His mercy and grace, nothing but His humble servant, but loved by Him unconditionally and perfectly, loved so much what while we were still sinners, He gave us His Son to die on a cross and pay for our sins that we would have eternal life in Him. Are you Amazed by Grace?

Again, here are some words from Dr. J. Vernon McGee — https://www.blueletterbible.org/audio_video/popPlayer.cfm?id=5465&rel=mcgee_j_vernon/Psa

Psalm 8:9 — O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Never cease to praise the Lord! How great is His Name!

“Cross” Fit S-WOD (Spiritual Workout of the Day) – 25 February 2024: Today, practice a childlike faith, not a childish faith. Step out today with the confidence that you are the perfectly loved, precious child of the Sovereign Almighty Lord who is with you always, will never leave you or forsake you, and promises to work everything out which is happening in your life for good in accordance with His perfect plan for you, which is to make you just like Jesus. Trust Him wholeheartedly today, and obey Him faithfully today because you love Him, trust Him, and want to please your Father and show everyone else how great He is.
