Observations from today’s readings and today’s S-WOD, Saturday, 17 February 2024:

Here is a short message on the Olivet Discourse (Mark 13:1-8), by the late Dr. R. C. Sproul: https://www.ligonier.org/learn/sermons/mark-olivet-discourse-part-1

Mark 13:9 – …and you will stand before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness before them.

The reality of end times gives greater opportunity for testimony.

Mark 13:10 – And the gospel must first be proclaimed to all nations.

World evangelism precedes end times.

Mark 13:13, 18 – And you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved…. Pray that it may not happen in winter.

Worry is never in order for end time – faith and prayer always are.

End times call for endurance and perseverance.

Mark 13:14 – …let the reader understand….

Scripture is the only basis for understanding end time.

Mark 13:9-37 – But be on guard; I have told you all things beforehand.

God prepares us for end time. He tells you what you need to know so that you will recognize it when you see it and so that you can have confidence in your circumstances that God remains in control and is working all things together for His great purposes.

Mark 13:32 – But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

Not even Jesus knew the dates of end time. If a preacher claims this knowledge, have nothing to do with him.

“Cross” Fit S-WOD (Spiritual Workout of the Day) – 17 February 2024: Don’t worry about tomorrow or what is going to happen to you. Make the most of every opportunity you have with gratefulness, contentment, and rejoicing.
